Of rectangular system, the square dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini extends to the edge of the historic center of Naples, closed between Port'Alba, via S. Maria of Constantinople and the adjacent buildings to the complex of the Old Hospital. The presence around the square, of many universities, the Academy of Fine Arts and Music Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella justify the connotation bohemian and cultural fervor that historically characterized.
In the center of the square stands a monument dedicated to the composer, erected in 1886: Bellini's statue stands on a high pedestal, the sides of which are made of the niches that used to house statues of the main heroines of his works.

In the center of the square, near the statue, a fence hosts interesting remains of city walls in tufa blocks (fourth century BC.), the western boundary of the greek-Roman Naples.

Piazza Bellini is also a welcome and popular meeting place for young people and intellectuals, the presence of many local and a literary cafe.
The square can be easily reached from the bus stop Dante, Line 1 subway station. In fact, just across from Piazza Dante is already Port'Alba you find yourself in Piazza Bellini.
